WEEKLY ACTIVITY: CAR-WASH

WEEKLY ACTIVITY: CAR-WASH

For this week´s activity a good weather is a most, so as soon as I saw the sun on a warm day in Sweden, I got everything ready. The first and most important thing you will need is a stroller, full of cookie crumbs, a good dosis of yougurt and wheels full of dirt and grass, AKA any toddler stroller.

Then depending on where you plan to do the activity, you will need a bucket of clean water or a hose; a sponge and dish liquid soap. If your stroller is from some delicated material, you could use special soap for clothes or furniture. Its important to emphasize that it is liquid, since its much easier for toddlers to use it. If you choose the hose over the bucket, don't open the tap too much. You will also need a small towel and wipes, in hand in case the soap ends up on their face.

The prep time for this activity is minimal, I advice you to get everything ready, before inviting your child to the car-wash! And don't  forget to put on you water proof outfit, because you will get wet.

One of the things we love about this activity is that you won't need to give many instructions to your child, what I did with Leti was explaining the goal of the activity and then I showed her how to do it. As always you should focus your attention on your child and in having fun.

With this activity we are reinforcing their sense of responsibility, we work on their independence, we help them develop a interest on taking care of their own things and off course we work on their ability to follow instructions. Its also a fun way to interact with the elements and to work on concepts, speech and motor skills.

Ps. Hope you like this video! Its the firs I recorded with the go-pro head strap, still learning how to used it properly. Promise they will get better!
